Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
1. Who we are
This policy explains how PC Workshop Ltd ("PC Workshop", "we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you use this website, contact us, book a repair, create an account, or subscribe to our Home Maintenance Plan. We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. For how we handle data protection more broadly — including the data on devices you bring in for repair — see our GDPR & Data Protection page.
2. What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address and password, when you create an account
- Your name, phone number and email address, when you submit a contact or booking form
- Details about your device and the fault you've described, when requesting a repair or gaming PC build
- Your PCWHUB customer ID, if you choose to link your PCWHUB account for repair status tracking
- Basic technical information about your visit to this website, where analytics are enabled
3. How we use it
We use your data to:
- Respond to enquiries and arrange repairs, bookings or callbacks
- Carry out repair, servicing or Home Maintenance Plan services you've requested
- Show you the status of your repairs if you've linked your PCWHUB account
- Keep records required for warranty, accounting and legal purposes
- Improve this website and our services
Our legal basis for this processing is that it is necessary to perform a contract with you (or take steps at your request before entering one), or our legitimate interest in running and improving our business, or your consent where you've specifically given it.
4. Contact, booking and account data
Forms and account data on this website are stored securely in our own database and used solely to respond to your enquiry, fulfil your booking, or operate your account — never for marketing without your separate consent. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
5. Linking your PCWHUB account
If you choose to link your PCWHUB customer account, we verify your access code with our Customer Hub system and store your PCWHUB customer reference against your website account so we can show you live repair, invoice and quote status. We do not receive or store sensitive device details such as passwords or PINs — those remain solely within PCWHUB.
6. How long we keep it
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services, meet legal and accounting obligations, and resolve any disputes. Repair and warranty records are typically kept for the duration of any applicable warranty period plus a reasonable period afterwards.
7. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with trusted third parties who help us run our business — such as hosting, payment, and IT service providers — only to the extent needed for them to perform those services, and under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data, where we're not required to keep it for legal reasons
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been mishandled
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
9. Cookies
This website uses an essential cookie to keep you logged in to your account. Where any non-essential cookies (such as analytics) are used, you will be asked for your consent first.
10. Contact us
For any questions about this policy or your data, contact us via our contact page or by calling 0191 285 9999.
